Unified Roots Learning Hub is an extension of the Griffith Steam Magnet Middle School in East Los Angeles,
designed to intertwine education, community, and nature. The concept reflects the idea
of “roots” as a symbol of growth, heritage, and foundation, while “unity” emphasizes collaboration
and inclusivity. This sustainable building features open courtyards, green roofs,
and nature-inspired spaces that encourage interactive learning and environmental engagement.
Acting as both a school and a community hub, it provides flexible spaces for
events, workshops, and collaborative projects, creating a harmonious environment where
students, educators, and families can connect, grow, and thrive together.
